Scleral Lenses

What Are Scleral Lenses?

Scleral contacts are rigid gas permeable contact lenses that have a larger diameter which cover the entire corneal surface and rest on the sclera (white part of the eye). Scleral lenses cover atypical corneas with a flawless optical surface to correct vision problems caused by variety of corneal disorders such as keratoconus.  Scleral lenses allow for a fluid filled space between the cornea and the back surface of the lens to provide comfort and hydration for patients who suffer from dry eyes.
